Entrepreneurial Management
(Management Major:  Entrepreneurship Option)
Boise State University

The entrepreneurial management option is NOT just for students who think they might start their own business or work in an entrepreneurial firm. Any managerial setting where there’s a need to be more innovative and more creative, where there’s a need to grow, and where there’s a need to develop new technologies, entrepreneurial skills are vital.

Boise State Business Plan Team MotiFleet Rolls over Chicago and Arkansas
April 13, 2008

The Boise State University graduate business plan team MotiFleet bested the University of Chicago and University of Arkansas in the Lightening Round at the New Venture Championship hosted Friday and Saturday by the University of Oregon in Portland. With a field of 20 competitors, the team was commended for their presentation by the judges at the awards ceremony. For their showing, the team made up of Jonathan Hill, Jenna Strong and Craig Johnson brought home $1,500. In an earlier semi-final round, the team lost to the University of Oregon team, TakeShape, which went on to tie with Brigham Young University’s Klymit team for the Grand Prize of $50,000

The MotiFleet product is an advanced vehicle fleet information management system that uses GPS tracking, route optimization and automated information capture in an online subscription model. The business plan for the venture was developed as part of their course in the Boise State MBA program. The team’s advisors are John Glerum, Director of the Boise State TECenter business incubator and Kent Neupert, professor in the College of Business & Economics.

The team competes next in the Moot Corp global business plan competition at the University of Texas - Austin, April 30 - May 3 for a $100,000 award package.
