Conclusions
This assignment called for students to analyze a performance problem in an organization and provide recommendations.  On this task, students had little difficulty identifying problems.  They were weaker on analysis--integrating course learning in understanding causes of the problems.  This led to a more restricted set  of alternatives utilized in formulating the implementation plans.  Overall, 81% (22/27) of the students attained or exceeded the desired standard for problem solving.
Recommendations
Opportunies for problem-solving in anorganizational context should be expanded for students, coupled with feedback.  Attention should be paid to the ability of students to apply course learning in demonstrating insight into the underlying causes, and range of interventions available, for such problems.  The results of this assessment will be shared with other MGMT301 instructors.
